Rescues Movie Night!
Due to the ominous weather Saturday, July 24th, the Coffeyville Fire Department (James Grimmett, Bobby Tracy, Will Rosson, Derek Messner, & Russell Robison) stepped in and offered Downtown Coffeyville Inc. to show their FREE movie to the kids at the fire station.  Carter Automotive, Roman's Motor Company, Premier Designs by Christine Lay, The Bagwell's and Patti Walker all pitched in to sponsor the movie, Over the Hedge.  The Independence Square Dancers (with some from Coffeyville) danced a bit before the showers fell and Torey and Cooper Smart belted out some tunes just as the lightning began.  Everyone packed up and headed to the fire station where we watched a silly, hilarious and DRY movie!

Thanks to Windsor Place for sponsoring our first 2010 movie night with Where the Wild Things Are!  With such excessive heat, the Independence Square Dancers (along with some Coffeyville folks as well), turned up the heat a little more with Bruce Main calling for them.  Oscar the Clown visited with us along with his rabbit that wears glasses!  Torey & Cooper Smart kicked off their mini concert around 6:15 warming up for Looking For Yesterday that nailed some great tunes for the crowd!  The movie began at sundown (around 9pm) with little ones gathered around with their families with such a lovely breeze to end the evening.  We look forward to our next outdoor FREE movie July 24th with Over the Hedge.  Bring everyone downtown around 7pm!

awnings - none
Final stages consisted of Taylor Crane and Rigging removing the uprights on the north side of 9th Street and Muller Construction directing the dirt and gravel fill to portions of the removed sidewalk then coordinating with the City of Coffeyville to repour removed sections of the sidewalk.

Enchancing the visual quality of downtown comes from good design. Attention is taken to all elements of the physical enviroment. Downtown Coffeyville Inc. and Kansas Main Street will be assisting property owners in creating an inviting atmosphere. Creative window displays, well maintained parking areas, colorful landscaping, properly placed signage, clean sidewalks, decorative street lights and the building themselves all play an important part in conveying a positive visual message of a thriving Downtown.  "Our Downtown" a place were people want to come and shop, eat and stay awhile.
