Downtown Fun Night!
SATURDAY, JUNE 6th turned our to be an extradordinary evening of fun in Downtown Coffeyville! The OK Car Club & Band was a success along with about 40 motorcycles showing up to show support! The free movie, Kung Fu Panda, was a hit with the kids and parents as well. A big thank you to the Dalton Museum for staying open and showing everyone a wonderful time! The FKHS cheerleaders sold hamburgers and snacks to make the event complete! Thank you to everyone for their help and for having a great time!
Quarterly Training in
Garden City, Kansas
Heading West this time to Garden City on our Quarterly Training, we were going to learn the Secret to Good Design with the help from Design Specialist, Joe Lawniczak. We discussed everything from awnings to signage to visual merchandize to outdoor seating.
We had time to listen to Amy Cole from the National Trust for Historic Preservation discussing sustainability and how reusing, reinvesting, and retrofitting our buildings in Coffeyville can provide guiding principles for sustainable development.
We Kan!
Downtown Coffeyville, Inc. & the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce visited the Kansas Sampler Foundation's Relentless for Rural - We Kan! Conference on April 24th in Salina, Kansas!
There were approximately 170 in attendance for this fun and exciting conference!
We learned just a little more about our historic buildings - preserving them and what to do with them after the fact. Stepping over to learn a little on the technology side with Facebook, Constant Contact, Twitter & Flickr and to get any additional help with your computer or camera. This conference proved to be helpful in so many ways!
Again, we look forward to utilizing them in our nestled community...because...WE KAN!
2009 National Main Street Conference
Chicago, IL
Our trip to the Windy City was eventful, informational and full of possibilities! We've come back with some innovative ideas, workable promotions that will ring our downtown registers and various other activities!
The theme, "Becoming Main Street 2.0" was the focus on how technology can be used to enhance community revitalization efforts. The conference helped equip us with the tools necessary to use the web's power to promote our initiatives. We're excited about implementing many of them soon!
We certainly look forward to the economic development and community renewal that will come as a result.

2009 Annual Meeting!
Thank you to everyone that came to our first annual breakfast meeting we had January 14th at Lanning's Downtown Grill. This marked our past accomplishments including our $20,000 matching grant awarded to us by the state, another private investment for our building located at 128 W. 9th Street, our award for investing over One Million Dollars back into our downtown, our Outstanding Organziational Award and our Outstanding Public Improvement Award in collaboration with the City of Coffeyville!
We are also excited about our 2009 goals and continued partnership with the City as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Phi Theta Kappa. We're looking to show a movie in our Downtown this spring, recognize our Downtown businesses with an after hours reception and hold a grill-out, just to name a few.
Thank you to all of our members for your support and encouragement! We couldn't do this without you.
