The Kansas Department of Commerce announced Downtown Coffeyville Inc. is a 5 time Award of Excellence winner at the annual Kansas Downtown Symposium at Memorial Hall in Independence Thursday, October 13, 2011.
Downtown Coffeyville, Inc's mission is to strengthen the downtown economy and preserve the historic character of its buildings.
Lisa Brookover, receiving the Community Award, Medicalodges receiving an Award of Excellence in Architectural Design, the Economic Restructuring Team (ER) donned an award for their Show Me the Money Workshop to inform property owners of available dollars from Downtown Coffeyville Inc.; and the Promotions Team is promoting the downtown and to get the community reacquainted with the district for their 2010 Halloween Spooktacular. Because of the dollars our downtown property owners have spent in rehab or new construction (removing metal, improving facades, fixing the roof, installing windows, etc.) Downtown Coffeyville Inc. received a $5 Million Reinvestment Award.
Congratulations to our award winners and to all of the volunteers who work to make our downtown the social gathering place we want it to be.
Santa & Mrs.
Claus came to downtown Coffeyville December 2nd and visited with all the kids
ready to jump on their laps and share with them their dreams of what presents
they would like on Christmas day.
Haymaker's Furniture donated the adorable bench that perched the Kringle's for the afternoon. Thank you to them.
Thank you to Mark
Gard and the Field Kindley High School choir for caroling for the Claus' and
everyone on the plaza. Delicious thank you's to all of our bakers, KiKi
Atkinson, Vickie Hawkins, Haylie Bagwell, Wendy Alvey, Bobby Joe Paasch, Yvonne
Hull, Shobha Chillal, Stephanie Richardson, Ann Marie Vannoster and Kim Bell.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed those cookies!
Great job to the
City of Coffeyville Electric Department for making all of the buildings shine
downtown with the lights and wreaths. Without the rest of our volunteers, Linda Frazier, Andy Vail, Carol Mangan, Jonna Lay, Denise Wintjen, Cheryl Wilson, and Richard Patterson we couldn't have pulled any of this off.
Downtown Coffeyville Inc's 4th Annual Running
With the Daltons was again, another success and we couldn't have succeeded without our volunteers (who repeatedly donate their time and
energy) and our contributors (which we are
truly grateful and humbled by their generosity)!!!
Funding raised by this event will
go towards operating expenses. This helps Downtown Coffeyville Inc.
present work-shops, create brochures, flyers and budget for events and
fundraisers. This funding
benefits our downtown business and property owners by creating walk-ability in
the downtown for traffic building, shopping and building up the image of our
business district.
We
are able to offer $1:$1 façade grants up to $1000 for our property owners,
design and financial education, fundraisers, movie nights, and so many other
options to our members in our district.
Our
2011 RWTD's team consists of: Bobby Joe Paasch, Carla LeLaCheur, Dean LeLaCheur,
Kim Maxson, Lawrence Briggans and Tracy Maxson.
Without the creativity, responsibility and resourcefulness of this entire team,
this event would not have happened.
A
special thank you to our volunteers for
setting up, registration, and taking pictures goes to Aaron Phillips, Ginni Center, Judy
Graham, Lyle Martin, Sheri Christie! We appreciate
your dependability. A HUGE thank
you to our auctioneers Dale Baker and Marty Hill! Without their high energy, generosity and enthusiasm we
wouldn't have been so successful.
Without those who
donated towards our give-aways and live auction, their generosity is applauded
